General Interpretation

9 of Wands

For the most parts Wands cards are very positive, but not all of them. The higher pip cards tend to indicate increased difficulty and worry and that starts here with the nine.

You are likely to be feeling that life is unfair right now, because all your troubles are being mean and refusing to line up and let you tackle them one at a time. Take a deep breath while you try and retain your sanity.

The 9 of Wands does not belittle your fears and worries and it doesn’t tell you that that there is nothing to worry about, because quite frankly, there usually is. What it does tell you is that not all your fears are worst case scenarios and some of them will end up being damp squibs in the firework display of life.

It is also telling you to keep calm and prioritize what needs to be done. Tackle your problems one at a time and don’t try and do everything at once. If there is help available to you then ask for it. Doing so is not a sign of weakness, it is simply being smart.

Friends and Family

The 9 of Wands is not the best of cards to arrive for friends and family readings. It may be that everyone has an axe to grind or a problem that they want to share. A problem shared is a problem halved so the saying goes, and there is an element of truth to that, but if all the “halves” are dumped on your shoulders you will soon be staggering under the load.

Don’t take on more than you can cope with and see if anyone else within the family, or another of your friends if that is the case, can help lighten your load. If they can great, and if they can’t then decide what to do and in what order, and then do it.

You can only do so much and the magic wand that works has yet to be invented.

Love and Relationships

There is a tendency in this modern day and age to examine all aspects of a relationship to see how it measures up to the ideal put forward by magazines etc. etc. The 9 of Wands is here to tell you that their idea of a perfect relationship is flawed from the very start. Firstly, there is no such thing as a perfect relationship, and secondly (and perhaps more importantly) what is perfect for one couple wouldn’t work for another.

Of course you should be aware of what is going on in your relationship; you both should. And if something important is causing difficulty then try and fix it. But what you should not do is dissect it down to the atomic level. Your partner cannot stand up to that sort of close scrutiny so don’t think you’re justified in exerting that sort of pressure because you are not. You wouldn’t stand up to that sort of scrutiny either.

Give your partner a break and stop examining everything to do with them and your relationship to the nth degree – it’s not necessary or wise.

The nine has mixed message for those looking for love. The downside is that you are not likely to find what you are looking for just yet. The upside is that you now have the opportunity to do the work you need to do on yourself so that you are ready when love does appear. Make the effort to clear out your metaphorical attic and throw away all the garbage you’ve been storing up there.

Spiritual Growth

Your spiritual quest is suffering from a lack of focus right now, and even though you may know that you don’t feel inclined to do anything about it! Self-discipline seems to have gone on vacation and that is going to hold you back.

To get any further along the path of your spiritual journey you will need to re-establish the discipline you once had and make the effort to focus on your spiritual advancement otherwise you’re just going to stagnate spiritually.

Commitment is the key word for you here.

Work and Career

Work is a problem area when the 9 of Wands appears. Things are likely to be tense and that means a tendency to say and do things that shouldn’t be said and shouldn’t be done. Try and keep calm. Rudyard Kipling’s “If…” comes to mind: If you can keep your head when all about you are losing theirs and blaming it on you; If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you, but make allowance for their doubting too… It may not fit the situation exactly but its message should resonate.

Tackle what is under your control and don’t fixate on the things that aren’t. You may not feel calm inside, but appearing cool, calm, and collected on the outside will benefit you. Remember, the nine does not predict failure, but difficulty. All may yet be well.

The worst aspect of the nine will appear if your question involves the safety of your position. If downsizing, or restructuring, or whatever they choose to call it is a possibility then there is a chance your job will be one of the casualties.

It’s not the best of cards to see if you are still job hunting. It usually means that you are not being very successful at finding something in the first place, or if you do find something then with your application, or if you’ve applied then with the interview.

Finances may be tight at the moment and the longer your search goes on the more the pressure is mounting up. Have faith in yourself and keep doing what you’re doing. It will pay off eventually.

Message from Spirit

You are stronger than you know so use that inner strength to get where you want to be.
