General Interpretation

Justice

Some tarot cards are archetypes of exactly what they say they are. In this case, simply put, Justice is interpreted as being just! So there is an oblique correlation to traditional justice and the fact that what goes around does indeed come around.

Speaking less literally, however, Justice has a connection with Karma. Usually Karma comes back to you as the person who “deserves” the payback, but at times you can find yourself dealing with payback that actually has something to do with someone else – possibly your child or your partner etc.

This kind of justice can seem personal, but generally it’s simply the “if this, then that” cause and effect of life. You won’t benefit in the slightest from taking it personally so just move ahead as best you can.

Justice Upright Meanings Step-by-Step

Friends, Friendships, and Family

Justice points to the truth that we are all connected – we are all part of the huge mass called life, and to think otherwise is folly. Your culture may tell you that the best people are mavericks who get things done all on their own and the rest of us just follow along like lemmings.

But the truth is that even the most avant-garde thinker is still working on or with or through things that other people, and/or society, initially developed or provided long before they started looking at it.

The appearance of this card also suggests that you must be scrupulously careful about being fair and dealing equally with others, because if you are not, the unfairness will be pointed out to you in a less than pleasant way.

Love and Relationships

Justice in this context means fairness. It is about reciprocity and giving as much as you are receiving. You should be appreciated and if you feel that you are not being treated with fairness and appreciation, then the time has come to talk about it. But, you need to make sure that you are appreciating your partner as much as they deserve – this is not a one way street.

If you are questioning whether or not an existing relationship will stay together for you, Justice leans slightly toward there being a breakup, if nothing changes. So give some thought to what, if anything, can change. The change will almost certainly have to come from both of you equally though.

If you are looking for love then you are likely to find it but only if you yourself are being loving to others.

Spiritual Growth

It is ever so easy when things go badly to feel put-upon. As if there’s a cold and cruel decision maker in the Universe who is shoveling the bad stuff unfairly in your direction. But the truth is that there is no such thing. and you are not doing yourself any favors by giving into those feelings of persecution.

Growth can’t happen while you are busily pointing fingers at everyone and everything else rather than accepting what is and trying to see how to grow from the circumstances you are in. It’s easier said than done, of course but feeling sorry for yourself is not going to help.

Work and Career

Justice is usually good news in the work and career arena; especially if you have been doing your job even close to correctly. Its appearance usually means that you are about to be rewarded for quality work.

If, on the other hand, you have been slacking and/or taking advantage of others, and are not doing what you need to be doing work/career wise, that too is about to come back to you in short order and it is unlikely to be a reward

If you feel that you are getting nowhere and don’t see any prospects of doing so then this is a good time to look back on the past. Consider looking for a new job and contact people who you worked for previously who were pleased with your efforts.

Message from Spirit

Ultimately things will always balance out despite appearances to the contrary. This is not personal, and you are not being picked on.
