The Celtic Cross

Celtic Cross Tarot SpreadThe Celtic Cross is an incredibly flexible spread and just might be the most often used complex spread in existence; it has become a classic.

If your situation or question falls into the category of a purpose made spread then you may be better off using that instead. The importance of using the right tools for the job cannot overemphasized. Ask any professional workman!

However, there are many times in life when your question or situation is not easily categorized. It is then that the Celtic Cross comes into its own.

Whether you want to look at a single question in depth, or consider the circumstances surrounding a situation, the Celtic Cross might be your best choice.

Notes:

Learning to interpret the Celtic Cross is not an easy task and consequently it is not suitable for the novice. And yet many websites claim this is the “only” spread any reader will ever need and encourage beginners to dive straight in.

It is a classic and I don’t argue with that description. That does not mean, however, that it is the only spread fit for the job. There are many dedicated spreads out there that are easier to interpret if they fit your purpose.

This spread is really only suitable for relatively experienced readers. There is no harm in trying it as a novice, but make sure you don’t get out of your depth if it’s an important question or issue.
