General Interpretation

8 of Wands

The 8 of Wands is likely to appear when progress seems to be lacking. Nothing is going anywhere and it’s going there fast. The eight speaks of the need for patience.

Nobody likes the “P” word, well, at least most people don’t and it’s an instant gratification world in which we live. People are used to being patient nowadays it seems.

The eight is telling you quite clearly that you need to be patient a while longer in whatever endeavor is concerned for you. This period of waiting is not going to last forever, but for now that is all you can do. It is out of your hands and quite probably in someone else’s.

Incidentally there is a warning that goes hand in hand with the eight. And that is quite simply: Don’t try to force the issue and don’t try to take shortcuts. You won’t succeed in making anything happen any faster and it could even backfire on you.

Friends and Family

This is likely to be a somewhat difficult period for all concerned. There are likely to be multiple irons in multiple fires being waited upon by multiple people. In other words there is a lot going on but not much is happening.

Even if everybody around you fails to understand the importance of patience that does not mean that you have to jump up and down and gnash your teeth along with them. You can’t be patient for them but you can be patient yourself because you too are likely to have irons in the fire.

Love and Relationships

For those of you in a relationship the 8 of Wands is likely to appear when you are ready to take your relationship to the next level of commitment. The problem is that your partner isn’t.

It doesn’t mean they won’t, just that they are not yet on the same page as you. Be patient and don’t push; you will probably get the commitment you are waiting for.

For those looking for love the eight is not the best of cards to see. It doesn’t mean that it won’t happen, but it does mean that it’s not going to happen yet. Do what you can to alleviate your frustration while you wait for that to change.

Spiritual Growth

Patience is not an easy lesson to learn for most people. A lucky few are gifted with a natural patience and they have an advantage over the rest of us. Patience is actually a spiritual lesson and one that needs to be learnt by everyone.

The 8 of Wands is a message to you that you need to learn the gift of patience even though it will be a difficult lesson for you to learn.

You need to overcome your natural tendency to try and make things happen when things are not moving at the speed you would like them to. Stillness, peace and quiet, and meditation will be your greatest allies.

Work and Career

This is likely to be a frustrating time for you at work because you are waiting on the decisions of others. Difficult though it may be for you to wait it out you should avoid any temptation to try and force the pace. If you can do that then there is a good chance that the decisions you are waiting on will be in your favor.

Unfortunately those of you still looking for a job are going to have to wait a bit longer. It may be that you’ve had an interview and you are waiting for a decision or that you are still waiting for an opportunity, but either way there is nothing you can do about it. You just need to be as patient as you can be.

Message from Spirit

Stillness is an important part of finding peace within. You will not find stillness unless you search for it.
