General Interpretation

King of Cups

The King of Cups will almost certainly represent someone in your life. He will be kind and loving and in some ways represents the best that both masculinity and femininity has to offer. Male and female energies perfectly balanced.

His appearance is a reminder that you are both loved and supported by the Universe. Sometimes that is obvious and sometimes it is not. When the King appears know that it is so.

We all need to be nurtured at times and now is a good time for you to both nurture yourself and to allow yourself to be nurtured by others.

Friends and Family

Once again he will most likely be a literal person within your circle of friends and/or family. Kind, loving, compassionate, reliable, and to a degree wise; he will be on your side.

He may not have all the answers that you need but you will get whatever he has to give. His advice will be worth listening to and if there is a time when he doesn’t have the answer then a little kindness and compassion can go a long way.

Love and Relationships

Like the Queen, the King of Cups is a really good card to get if you are looking for love. The Cups suit in general is often about love but there are few cards that are more loving in nature than the King.

The King of Cups is still good news for those of you who are already in relationships. He indicates that there is a great deal of love around you and that although success is never guaranteed (you can love someone deeply and still not be able to live with them) where love is concerned the odds are in your favor.

Nurture the love that the two of you have. Nurture yourselves, nurture each other, and nurture the relationship.

Spiritual Growth

The King represents a male and female balance that is sorely lacking in this modern world. His achievement is something that you should strive to emulate. Consider whether a little more masculinity and a little less femininity or vice versa would help you to become closer to what the King represents.

It won’t be easy because we all tend to think that we are fine, and balanced as we are, but the truth of the matter is (and you will need to be brutally honest with yourself here) that true balance is rarely there.

Work and Career

It is possible that the King of Cups will represent a co-worker but most times he will represent your boss. It may not be “the” boss but certainly a boss somewhere within the hierarchy of the company that you work for.

He is someone that you can approach should the occasion arise. If you need help or guidance, or whatever, then ask. You may not think he is approachable but he is.

If you are looking for work then think about the people you know; who do you know that is kind, loving, probably somewhat traditional in their thinking or perhaps you would even consider them to be a father figure? Think about that and if you can come up with someone that fits then ask for their advice.

Message from Spirit

You are called upon to put into practice some of the kindness and love that the king of cups represents. Spread some of his compassion around.
