The Ceccoli Tarot Deck showcases the haunting, thoughtful, beautiful artwork by Nicoletta Ceccoli. Appropriately for a tarot deck, these images are not all sweetness and light; there is darkness and uncertainty there and that is as it should be.
If you are an intuitive reader of cards with an open mind, and someone who knows Tarot well, this is a deck that you will really enjoy. These images (exactly like ancient tarot cards) point to archetypes and are evocative emotionally. There is a real energy to the pictures.
However, it might not be a deck for everyone. Beginners may find that real energy or not they will have difficulty picturing the story. This is particularly true if it is the only deck they own. The symbolism is nothing like the Rider Waite deck.
Having said that, I could actually see this deck being used as an adjunct for someone who is learning the tarot. It will help make you think outside the box. The Ceccoli card could be drawn and laid next to the Rider Waite card as a clarification or deepening of the understanding of what a particular card is about.
If you are someone who reacts strongly or badly to any depiction of dark and/or melancholy energy and some do, this might not be the deck for you either. Some of these images are incredibly haunting and emotionally suggestive. If that doesn’t appeal to you then you might be better off looking elsewhere.
Ceccoli Tarot Deck Recommendation
Overall, the deck is beautiful, thought provoking, rich and detailed. The meanings of the card are interesting and useful. I thoroughly recommend them for any experienced reader and even if that is not you, you should still consider this deck as an add-on. The deck is still available on Amazon.
