The Relationship Cross tarot spread is a fairly straightforward reading that looks at what is going on between the two of you.
Although this spread is often chosen when problems arise it should not be looked at in only that way. It is also a useful spread when things are just OK rather than problematic.
Used simply as a spread for when problems arise it is useful because it can shed light on the issue from both sides. Life is rarely black and white and yet when issues arise in a relationship it is often treated that way. This spread is a reminder that there are always two sides to any story. Just because one partner thinks they’re “right” doesn’t mean they are. Consequently this spread does not take sides!
It can also be used to look at a relationship that is just ticking along and you may be wondering whether there is a future together, or not. If things are a little humdrum this spread may give you some insight as to whether you’ve made the right choice.

Experienced readers will get the most from this spread as you might expect. Having said that, it should be comfortably within the capabilities of most novices even if there is not as much detail elicited. If you’re an absolute beginner you may struggle a little as it is a step up from simpler spreads. Even so, if you are (justifiably) confident of your ability then there is no reason why you shouldn’t experiment with it.
